Expeditions and Sectors: Prepare, Read, Return
An expedition is a resource loop: enter prepared, read danger and progress, collect what advances the colony, and return before compounding risk.

Table of contents
An expedition is not separate from the colony. It spends equipment, ammunition, squad health, time, and the opportunity to respond at home. In return it can advance sector progress, Core collection, and access to new threats or rewards. Treat it as a loop with a planned exit.
Before you enter
Check five layers:
Colony
- Essential production is moving.
- No critical construction or staffing change is waiting for your attention.
- Storage has enough room for continued output.
- A citizen or prisoner problem is not about to force a return.
Squad
- The field group has roles you understand.
- Follow and positioning commands are familiar.
- A worker needed at home has not been taken without coverage.
Weapon
- You know primary and alternate fire.
- Effective range matches the expected space.
- Magazine, stability, and weak-point behavior fit the encounter plan.
Core
- Triggers and cooldowns are realistic for your weapon.
- Immunity text has been checked for the expected elite or Overlord.
- An unknown combination is treated as unknown, not assumed to work.
Return rule
Choose at least one condition before entry: ammunition floor, squad condition, Core progress, objective completion, or colony risk.
Read the expedition screen
The current screen shows Elysia, Sector 1 — Scourgeborn Control Zone, expedition progress, enemy strength, Core Fragment progress, and a control to end the current expedition.
| Signal | Decision it supports |
|---|---|
| Sector identity | Which environment and threat context you are entering |
| Expedition progress | Whether another objective is likely to advance the run |
| Enemy strength | Whether current squad and equipment remain appropriate |
| Core collection | Whether continued risk advances a build goal |
| End expedition | Whether the value already secured is worth banking now |
The screen displays 12/12 Core Fragments in its collection view. That describes the captured current screen, not a universal fragment count for every sector or edition.

A continue-or-return decision
Use three columns rather than one feeling:
Value already secured
Count objective progress, useful equipment, Core progress, prisoners, and anything else that would hurt to lose.
Cost of one more objective
Estimate ammunition, health, squad exposure, expected enemy strength, and the time before the colony needs attention.
New information
Ask whether the next step reveals a sector route, unlock, Overlord mechanic, or other information worth the cost. Exploration has value, but it should be named.
Return when secured value is high and the next step adds compounding risk with little new information.
Elysia and sector danger
Current material names Elysia and Elysia Oasis, divides expedition progress into sectors, and ties higher danger to stronger opposition and reward. It also shows large encounters, fortifications, mines, projectiles, and Core-related progress.
This page does not publish a complete Elysia map, exact route, all sector count, or full reward table. Those tasks need direct exploration records rather than a map inferred from selected screenshots.
After returning
Close the loop immediately:
- Review what changed in Core options, equipment, prisoners, and research.
- Restore workers taken from the colony.
- Repair the production shortage that developed while away.
- Decide whether the next research or crafting action serves the discovered sector problem.
- Record the return rule that worked—or the warning you ignored.
