Enemies, Elites, and Sector Overlords: Read the Threat
Classify what can hit you, what controls space, and what mechanic ends the encounter before committing ammunition and squad position.

Table of contents
Large Pax Autocratica encounters can combine elites, bosses, Sector Overlords, projectiles, landmines, fortifications, weak points, and mechanized opposition. This page is a threat-reading guide. It is not an all-boss list.
Classify the threat before spending the squad
Use four layers:
- Immediate damage: projectiles, melee pressure, mines, or a direct heavy attack.
- Space control: zones, fortifications, summons, or movement constraints.
- Mechanic: weak point, ability window, ammunition threshold, or objective.
- Exception: immunity or rule that invalidates a Core or control plan.
Answering only “How much health?” misses the part of the encounter that usually causes the loss.
Elites, bosses, and Sector Overlords
The game distinguishes high-threat enemy categories. The exact labels and mechanics should be read in the current encounter, but one present Core card makes an important boundary explicit: Drone EMP can disable elite or boss abilities, while Sector Overlords are immune to that effect.
That yields a general rule: always read target exceptions before building an encounter plan around crowd control.
Named current context
Current material names Elysia Oasis, sectors with increasing danger, and a Massive Fortress encounter context. Recent system changes also discuss:
- landmine visibility and interaction;
- weak-point readability;
- boss accuracy;
- ammunition thresholds;
- Sector Overlord immunities;
- projectile-heavy and large-scale encounters.
Those names and mechanic categories are enough to prepare recognition. They do not establish every boss, phase, route, reward, or current balance value.

A first-attempt protocol
Observe before committing
Enter with an exit lane. Identify projectiles, mines, summons, weak points, cover, and any arena boundary before bringing the full squad forward.
Test one mechanic
Use a short fire or movement test to learn what changes the encounter. Avoid spending a full magazine or every Core cooldown before you know whether the target, weak point, or add wave is the real objective.
Move the squad deliberately
Followers can turn one mistake into several. Hold or reposition them before a minefield, narrow projectile lane, or area attack. See Soldiers and Squad Roles.
Match weapon behavior
Use effective range, scope, stability, magazine, and weak-point values to choose the engagement distance. The current Weapons and Firing Modes page shows how to read those values without reducing them to a fake universal DPS.
Check Core exceptions
Retaliation needs close range. Drone EMP has an Overlord immunity. Toxic-Drone needs Toxic Fog damage and works on its own duration and cooldown. The current Core planner keeps those conditions visible.
Failure diagnosis
| Failure | Likely question for the next attempt |
|---|---|
| Squad collapses together | Did positioning put everyone in one damage lane? |
| Ammo disappears before the mechanic | Were you shooting armor or the wrong phase? |
| Control does nothing | Is the target immune or outside the effect condition? |
| Player is trapped | Which attack or object controls space, and where is the exit lane? |
| Weak point cannot be used | Does the weapon’s range, stability, or scope fit the opening? |
Return instead of forcing the fight
An expedition can still be successful without defeating the next large threat. Return when secured Core progress, equipment, or prisoners outweigh the value of one more attempt—especially if ammunition, squad health, or colony stability has crossed the return rule set before entry.
The Expeditions and Sectors page provides the full continue-or-return framework.
Current boundary
This launch guide does not claim a complete boss catalogue, exact phase script, complete sector map, or “best” counter build. Add named rows only when the current encounter and its readable mechanic can be recorded together.
